CO-Harare has a new Director

The ILO is very pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Philile Masuku as the new Director of the Country Office for Zimbabwe and Namibia.

As part of her confirmation, Ms. Masuku met with the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, Ambassador Frederick Shava, to present her credentials.

Ms. Masuku is an international trade specialist and brings more than 17 years of leadership and management experience.

Prior to that, she held several positions including that of First Secretary of Embassy of the Kingdom of Eswatini in Brussels, Belgium and Trade Information Analyst at the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry in Mbabane, Eswatini.

Philile holds a Master’s in International Trade from the University of Saskatchewan and a Masters' in International Studies from Stellenbosch University in South Africa, and a Bachelor of Communications and International Marketing from St Andrews University in the USA.

“I am very happy to be taking up this role at a time when both Zimbabwe and Namibia are looking to building a future of work that uplifts the peoples of the two countries," she said.

"The Decent Work Agenda has never become more important than it is today when the world of work faces multiple shocks. I am looking forward to contributing my skills and knowledge to advancing social justice and promoting decent work as per ILO mandate.”
