The E-MINDFUL project offers the opportunity to leverage the role and respective mandates of the ILO as custodian of the key international convention on labour migrations, and of the OSCE, a regional security organization with a multi-dimensional mandate on migration, in the framework of the EU Agenda on Migration. The E-MINDFUL project wishes to pool collective knowledge and experiences about communicating migration to explore effective messaging that can resonate beyond audiences who are already supportive, and to learn from impactful as well as counterproductive communication strategies.

The main objective is to provide evidence-based and action-oriented guidance, including innovative instruments that can orientate future communication efforts on migration and migrants. The overall objective is to promote a social and economic environment where everyone, migrants and nationals, can feel welcome and belonging, and to encourage effective migration policy making, particularly in the field of economic migration.

The project foresees implementation of the following activities:
  • Stock-taking of communication efforts aimed at raising awareness about migrants’ contribution to host societies.
  • Creation and assessment of multi-national awareness raising and edutainment initiatives.
  • End-of-project capitalization and consolidation of the knowledge, tools and lessons learnt.
