Call for expressions of interest

The ILO and the AU launch calls for expressions of interest for mapping studies on the social and solidarity economy in select countries in Africa

4 September 2023

The ILO and the African Union have launched a series of calls for proposals to undertake mapping studies of the social and solidarity economy (SSE) in select countries. At the regional level the joint initiative comes in follow to the development of the AU ten Year (2023-2032) Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) Strategy for Africa that was developed with technical and financial support from the ILO. This regional initiative follows in the footsteps of global developments including the 110th ILC resolution on decent work and the SSE (2022) and the UN resolution on promoting the SSE for sustainable development (2023). The call for proposals have been launched for DRC, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Nigeria, and Zambia. Interested candidates are invited to submit their proposals to coop@ilo.org in early September 2023.
