The ILO works closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to strengthen their capacity to support employment intensive infrastructure development, a just energy transition, entrepreneurship development, elimination of child labour, including in the agro-food sector, gender equality and disability inclusion, impacting the lives of youth, women and men worldwide.

In addition to its contributions for specific programmes and projects, in 2022-23, Italy contributed over US$ 0.4 million to the ILO Regular Budget Supplementary Account, allowing the Office to allocate these funds flexibly when and where they are most needed.

Furthermore, the ILO benefits from Italian expertise through the country’s participation in the Junior Professional Officer programme.
