New skills for business growth for Suriname’s agro-cooperatives

Agro-cooperatives help farmers to pool their resources and strengthen their bargaining position. But in Suriname, they face multiple barriers that make growing their business difficult. Thirty agro-cooperatives in the Caribbean country are now building the skills they need to achieve sustainable growth, thanks to an ILO-led training and coaching programme. Ram Lutchman, Chairman of the Sunday Market Cooperative, explains how the programme is developing market-oriented capabilities for his co-operative.
