Women in mining: Towards gender equality

This study aims to contribute to a better understanding of the issues faced by women in mining, and the key challenges and opportunities to advance gender equality and decent work in the sector. By applying both a gender lens and the human-centred approach set out in the ILO Centenary Declaration for the Future of Work, 2019, the study has been prepared with a view to inspiring action by the ILO, its constituents and partners at the sectoral, national, regional and global levels to bring about a brighter future of work for women and men in mining operations and communities.
