9 governments

In 2022-23 nine governments contributed to the RBSA.

US$ 31.6 million

Contributions to RBSA totalled US$ 31.6 million in 2022-23.

47 countries

Over 47 countries currently benefit from interventions funded by RBSA.

Nine governments contribute to ILO core voluntary funding: Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden.

This modality provides flexible, unearmarked contributions enabling the ILO to allocate resources there were they are needed most. The ILO’s Regular Budget Supplementary Account (RBSA) is a critical element of the ILO resource mix and represented US$ 31.6 million in 2022-23.

The unearmarked contributions enable to  boost ILO’s country programme priorities in a variety of ways. RBSA interventions launch innovative initiatives; help to rapidly address emerging needs; expand the scope and/or scale of existing programmes; mainstream cross-cutting issues in labour policies and programmes; leverage greater funding from other sources and increase sustainability of ILO assistance through partnerships with UN agencies.
