Senegal has been a member of the ILO since 1960 and is today home to the ILO's Decent Work Team for West Africa and Country Office for Senegal, Cabo Verde, the Gambia, Guinea and Guinea-Bissau. Productive and decent jobs are at the heart of Senegal's development agenda. This is why the ILO's tripartite constituents in Senegal are committed to filling the decent work deficit in the country through the formulation and implementation of its Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP).

The ILO provides technical and financial support to Senegal in line with the country’s strategic objectives, which focus on the promotion and implementation of fundamental principles and rights at work, increasing opportunities for men and women to obtain decent employment, increasing the benefits and effectiveness of social protection for all, and strengthening tripartism and social dialogue.
